This website represents a partnership between the Queens Market branch of the National Market Traders' Federation, the Queens Market Traders' Association and St Modwen Developments Ltd. Newham Council is currently processing the planning application submitted by St Modwen in May 2008.

The National Market Traders FederationThe NMTF is a highly respected organisation, founded in 1899, and represents the interests of 27,000 market stall traders on retail markets throughout the UK. The National Market Traders' Federation (NMTF) has been closely involved with the emerging proposals for the new Queens Market. The local Queens Market branch of the NMTF is chaired by Julie Lightly. Queens Market Traders Association

Queens Market Traders AssociationThe Queens Market Traders Association represents the interests of the majority of the shopkeepers at Queens Market, and, again, it has been closely involved with the emerging plans for the market. It is chaired by Manish Patel, who can be reached on 07876 630 416.

Newham Council

Newham CouncilThe Council signed a development agreement with St Modwen in March 2006 following two years of due diligence work, financial assessments and community consultation.  The Council will oversee the application process and will ensure that the regeneration is satisfactorily completed.  Newham Council would retain the freehold ownership of the new Queens Market and will ensure that St Modwen operates the Market to the highest standard.

St Modwen Developments Limited signed a Development Agreement with Newham Council in March 2006 proposing a multi-million pound improvement scheme for Queens Market having been selected through a competitive process.
